One of Brett’s first technology experiences involved shoving a peanut butter and jelly sandwich into a VCR at a very young age. While not a grand achievement, it did impart practical experience. Lucky to have a neighbor who worked at Digital Equipment Corporation, help was never far away as Brett shredded through DOS prompts, help files and broken Windows 3.x video card driver stacks while pushing his first computers to the limits. His Christmas list at 12 included a list of computer components his parents didn’t understand but took a leap of faith and purchased anyway.
As time passed, Brett’s ability to computer grew exponentially. From middle school help desk support to moonlighting supporting businesses remotely from his college dorm, Brett put these skills to good use. He worked co-op at Computer Associates and BladeLogic (later acquired by BMC) where he gained extensive experience managing large corporate networks.
Post graduating Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University, Brett returned back to Vermont where he worked at a local ERP business maintaining numerous client networks while providing ERP implementation services. It was during this time he saw Vermont had a desperate need for a solid IT company as many companies were without adequate infrastructure.
As such, Brett started simpleroute in 2009 on a mission to fill a growing need. It’s his sincere desire to provide a positive work experience while also providing the best IT services possible.

Sometimes you get that question as you are growing up "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Most kids probably do not rant and rave about wanting to be in the IT industry, but my love for computers started at a young age. Fast forward to now and I have a degree in Cyber Security and Network/System Administration from Champlain College. Being in my generation is amazing because I get to see so many changes within technology. When I am not working or thinking about IT related topics, I like to get outside as much as a I can. Kayaking, hiking, camping, and just going for walks with my yellow Lab Buster!
Brandon comes to simpleroute with 6 years in IT.

Mike started out working with computers all the way back in kindergarten with the first PC his mom bought for him out of a catalog. As years went by, he became obsessed with the transformative nature of technology, wanting to be the first kid in his school to have the latest and greatest upgrades while getting a reputation as being the guy who could fix issues with printers and help format your Word documents.
Professionally, that reputation led him to fall into IT with the Burlington Police Department, where he also developed a passion for IT Project Management and a Master's Degree in Managing Innovation & Information Technology at Champlain College. He most recently comes from several years as an IT Specialist at DR Power, a division of Generac.
When Mike isn't in front of a computer, he can be found spending time with his family or digging into his longtime hobbies of video gaming and travelling across Vermont in search of great places to eat.
Skylar began his career in IT almost by accident; his knack for technical problem solving and creative thinking made him the go-to person whenever technology decided to misbehave. Skylar loves helping people and making their problems disappear and a background in bio-statistics and evolutionary modeling means he is no stranger to a little computer coercion.
Skylar appreciates the tight-knit nature of the Vermont business community and understands importance of effective technological resources for our partners to succeed and grow.
Skylar spends most of his free time outdoors basking in the beautiful Vermont landscape. When he's not inside fixing your computers you are likely to meet him on the top of a mountain or out on the water.

Personal Quote: "Knowledge is power!"
Anne has been working in office management since 1996. Her IT experience has been on the user end and she has always enjoyed the challenge of learning new platforms. Anne finds the peaceful atmosphere of the office a natural extension of the quiet she enjoys so much in the woodland hills of her backyard. It is where the welcome bird songs are treasures from a lifelong practice of maintaining the landscape as a bird sanctuary. It is this simple joy that gives her the focus she uses to dig into simpleroute's IT management and bookkeeping.
Millie was adopted from South Carolina. Details are unknown in her life prior to adoption but she is suspected to be a Beagle and Rottweiler mix. While she doesn't close many tickets or answer many calls, the team is very aware of her presence as their KPIs increase when she is in the office.
